Solaris leads the market

The business result for the first six months of 2007 speaks for itself: In the current year, Solaris is the undisputed market leader in the bus manufacturing branch. During the first six months of 2007 alone, 194 vehicles have been sold

on the Polish market, and another 110 to customers abroad. The sales plan for the whole year 2007 comprises over 800 buses.

The largest customer in the first six-months period, the Warsaw municipal transportation company, MZA, has purchased 100 articulated Solaris Urbino 18 and 50 Solaris Urbino 12 city buses. At the end of June, also the first 13 of 53 ordered low-floor Solaris Urbino 12 city buses were delivered to the Warsaw-based private transportation company Mobilis.

During the same period, further Solaris city buses went to Gdynia, Czechowice-Dziedzice, Jastrzębie Zdrój, Sosnowiec, Augustów, Swarzędz, Żywiec, Starogard Gdański, and Kędzierzyn Koźle.

In addition, the travel organizations Itaka, Heltour and Selment, as well as the Poznań College of Catering and Hotel Industry have bought a total of six Solaris Vacanza coaches. Another vehicle sold was a mobile blood donation center based on the Solaris Vacanza coach, this time for the City of Poznań.

The sales figures of the first six-months period of 2007 are rendering Solaris the undisputed leader on the Polish bus manufacturing market. The forecast for the second six months suggest an equally promising result. Currently, orders from Radom, Włocławek, Piła, Płock and Ostrów are being carried out.

In the first six months of 2007, 110 Solaris buses were delivered to our customers abroad - to the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Lithuania, Germany, Norway, and to Switzerland. - “The sales figures on the export market for the first six months may not be quite as impressive as they are on the domestic market, we must, however, keep the open orders in mind: most deliveries are scheduled to take place during the second half year.” - explains Krzysztof Olszewski, president of Solaris Bus & Coach. - “Among the largest orders, there are purchases by the Berlin public transportation company, RTA transportation from Dubai, transportation companies from Kassel and Hannover, and from the Norwegian city of Vestfold. We‘re expecting a record-breaking year - our sales forecast totals some 800 vehicles.”
