From October 14 to 16, Solaris is taking part in the TRANSEXPO International Fair of Public Transport in Kielce. The manufacturer will present two of the latest additions to its zero-emission portfolio: the Urbino 10,5 electric, making its Polish debut, and the new-generation Urbino 12 hydrogen. This year’s event also coincides with Solaris’ 30th anniversary.
TRANSEXPO is one of the key events for the public transport industry in Poland. At this year’s edition in Kielce, Solaris will showcase two of its latest zero-emission models: the compact Urbino 10,5 electric and the new-generation Urbino 12 hydrogen. Both vehicles incorporate the latest technological solutions developed by Solaris in the field of electromobility.
Urbino 10,5 electric presented in Poland for the first time
One of the vehicles on display at the Solaris booth will be the Urbino 10,5 electric, winner of the Sustainable Bus Award 2026 in the “Urban” category. The model made its world premiere in October 2025 at Busworld in Brussels. At TRANSEXPO, the bus will be presented to the Polish public for the first time.
The Urbino 10,5 electric is a compact, fully electric bus designed for routes where a standard 12-metre vehicle is not always the optimal solution. Measuring 10.5 metres in length, it combines outstanding manoeuvrability with high passenger capacity. The bus can accommodate up to 85 passengers, including up to 33 seated, the best result in its class. A turning diameter of less than 17 metres makes it particularly well suited to narrower streets and dense urban environments.
The Urbino 10,5 electric features a towerless driveline architecture, providing more space for passengers and greater flexibility in the arrangement of key vehicle components. It is equipped with a 240 kW electric motor and Solaris High Energy batteries with a capacity of up to 400 kWh. This configuration enables all-day operation without intermediate charging. Charging is available via both a plug-in connector and a pantograph.
The model complies with GSR2 safety requirements and can be equipped with a range of advanced driver assistance systems. It also features an energy-efficient air-conditioning system with a CO₂ heat pump.
Urbino 12 hydrogen new generation
The second vehicle presented at TRANSEXPO will be the Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen new generation. Like the Urbino 10,5 electric, the bus is based on the unified platform without engine tower shared by the latest vehicles in the Urbino family. In the Urbino 12 hydrogen, this design has made it possible to increase the number of seats available at the rear of the bus, while the flexible arrangement of roof-mounted components facilitates service access to key systems.
The main source of energy in the Urbino 12 hydrogen remains a hydrogen fuel cell with an output of more than 70 kW. The electricity generated by the fuel cell powers a centrally mounted traction motor. The traction battery plays a supporting role, providing additional power during peak demand and storing energy recovered through regenerative braking.
The new generation model also features safety and driver assistance solutions compliant with GSR2 requirements, including blind spot monitoring, systems warning of potential hazards around the vehicle, driver drowsiness monitoring, and Intelligent Speed Assistance.
30 years of development and innovation
Solaris’ participation in TRANSEXPO this year comes at a special time for the company. In 2026, the manufacturer is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Over the past three decades, Solaris has grown from a local bus manufacturer into one of Europe’s leading providers of public transport solutions, with a strategy focused on electromobility and zero-emission vehicles.
The company’s key strategic directions include further strengthening its position in the European zero-emission bus market, increasing production capacity, entering new market segments, and expanding into North American markets.
We invite you to visit Solaris booth 9B10 at TRANSEXPO in Kielce from October 14 to 16, 2026, and take a closer look at the manufacturer’s latest zero-emission vehicles.
