Tramino Poznań

Created by a team of experienced professionals, the Tramino Poznań is the first tram produced by Solaris. Taking into account the diverse needs of passengers, it offers the highest travel comfort. Classic wheelsets and no steps at the entrance and inside the vehicle provide a low floor along the entire length of the tram. This solution makes the tram fully accessible and comfortable for all passengers. In 2012, the Solaris Tramino Poznań was honoured with the TOP Design Award, presented at Arena Design exhibition in Poznań. This prize, together with the high technical availability confirmed by Poznań City Transport (MPK), proves the tram’s reliability and uniqueness.

Tramino Jena

Tramino Jena are three-section, fully low-floor bidirectional GTx trams. With their construction, the vehicles fit Jena’s network perfectly, not only in terms of its infrastructure of tram tacks and depots, but also the existing tram fleet. Trams are equipped with an air-conditioning system for the driver’s cab and passenger area. Every section is based on one centrally-mounted bogie. Consequently, the weight of every section is evenly distributed, the vehicle is more stable and the forces transmitted through the articulations are much smaller. The Tramino Jena is the first tram operating in Germany which was supplied by a Polish manufacturer.

Tramino Braunschweig

Tramino Braunschweig are uni-directional low-floor GTx vehicles. Each vehicle section has its own bogie for Brunswick’s track gauge of 1,100 mm. Each air-conditioned tram for Braunschweig has a capacity of 211 passengers, including 87 seated. Szynowy The Tramino Braunschweig is equipped with five 90 kW asynchronous traction motors and supercapacitors, where recuperated energy is stored. The energy is then reused when starting tram’s operation. The vehicle is also fitted with a system which stabilises its body.

Tramino Olsztyn

The Solaris Tramino is bi-directional. As it has two driver’s cabins, it can be used effectively on one-rail routes so there is no need to build a tram loop. The trams for Olsztyn consist of three sections. Each of them runs on a pivoting bogie of its own. Tramino Olsztyn's track has a gauge of 1,435 mm. In order to reach maximum effectiveness it uses performance wheels with a large diameter of 682 mm. However, despite the wheel dimensions the floor remains 100% low. In designing the tram, Solaris's engineers introduced a range of innovative technologies and unusual solutions that hitherto have been unknown in Poland and even in European markets. One such development is automatic levelling at different loads and wear of wheels. Four asynchronous 120 kW traction motors deliver the necessary power. The new trams are equipped with two batteries with a 540 AH capacity which allows them to operate independently of overhead wires.

Tramino Lipsk

The trams for Leipzig boast a total length of 37.63 and width of 2.3 meters and consist of four modules. The stylistic concept of the vehicle is the outcome of close collaboration of the customer and design studio IFS Design what allowed for the optimisation of the tram in terms of comfort, ergonomics, as well as habits and wishes of the tram drivers in Leipzig. In order to ensure maximum aesthetic cohesion and to reduce noise generated by equipment mounted on the vehicle, it has been fitted with roof screens. Specially designed lighting panels have been installed in the ceiling, adapting the colour and intensity of light to weather conditions. The designers have included four extremely broad, 1500 milimetrewide double-leaf doors and two one-leaf, 800-milimetre-wide doors in the vehicle. The passenger information system has been improved by fitting the vehicle with special external displays for passengers entering the tram, mounted over the double-leaf doors.
