Urbino 15 LE electric at FIAA Madrid 2026

At FIAA Madrid 2026, Solaris is presenting the Urbino 15 LE electric, an electric bus designed to serve urban and suburban routes. This year’s edition of the trade fair is particularly significant for the manufacturer, as Solaris celebrates its 30th anniversary, entering its fourth decade with an established position as a European leader in e-mobility and a clearly defined direction for further development.

From 22 to 24 September, Solaris is exhibiting at FIAA Madrid, one of Europe’s most important events for the bus industry. At stand 9C09 in Hall 9, the manufacturer is presenting the Urbino 15 LE electric, a three-axle, low-entry bus combining high passenger capacity with solutions designed for operation both in urban traffic and on regional routes.

The Urbino 15 LE electric showcased at FIAA is equipped with an electric drivetrain and Solaris High Energy batteries. Flexible energy storage and charging solutions allow the vehicle configuration to be tailored to the operator’s requirements. The bus can be charged via a CCS2 connector or pantograph and, depending on the specification and operating conditions, offers a range of over  600 km according to eSORT test.

The low-entry front section of the bus facilitates boarding and efficient passenger exchange, which is particularly important in urban traffic. The rear section of the model, in turn, has been designed with passenger comfort in mind, including on longer journeys. The 15-metre electric bus can carry up to 100 passengers, offering up to 65 seats.

Passenger and driver safety is supported by advanced driver assistance systems, including solutions for monitoring blind spots, detecting pedestrians and other vehicles in the vicinity of the bus, and warning of potential hazards. Driving safety is also enhanced by systems supporting vehicle stability and braking performance, including EBS, ASR and ESC, as well as the Collision Mitigation System (CMS). The Urbino 15 LE electric meets the requirements of GSR2 regulations and UN Regulation No. 66. The vehicle is also compatible with the eSConnect remote fleet management system, which provides telemetry, operational data analysis and elements of predictive diagnostics.

The Urbino 15 LE electric is a model proven in real-world operation across Europe. Solaris has already contracted more than 600 vehicles of this type, with around 370 delivered to operators, primarily in Sweden, as well as in the Netherlands, Spain and Poland. During the trade fair, Solaris experts will be available to visitors to present the capabilities of the new Urbino 15 LE electric and share their experience in the development of zero-emission public transport.

This year’s FIAA is particularly significant for Solaris, as the company is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Over 30 years, Solaris has delivered 30,000 vehicles to 900 cities in Europe and beyond, including Canada. The company is entering its fourth decade of development and innovation with clearly defined strategic goals and an ongoing ambition to transform public transport and make it more sustainable and accessible for residents.
