Swiss public transport operator PostAuto and Solaris Bus & Coach have signed a framework agreement for the delivery of up to 115 electric buses. Solaris was selected in the tender procedures for both 12-metre and 18-metre buses. Under this agreement, PostAuto will place orders for vehicles to be delivered in 2026 and 2027 to various cities across Switzerland.
Solaris successfully participated in the tender with its electric models featuring a modular drive system – the Urbino 12 electric and the Urbino 18 electric. The framework agreement allows the operator to place orders until the end of 2026, while deliveries may continue until the end of 2027. PostAuto has already placed initial orders for 33 buses – 23x Urbino 12 electric and 10x Urbino 18 electric vehicles. The battery-electric Solaris buses will join the fleets of a dozen Swiss cities.
Solaris has been present in Switzerland since 2002 and has delivered nearly 700 buses to the market to date, including close to 250 vehicles for PostAuto.
